Checking the IRQ

The server automatically sets the interrupt levels (IRQ) of PCI
expansion cards installed. You can check the IRQ of each card
with Windows Server 2003/Windows 2000 or an equivalent
operating system on the server.
See the user’s guide to the operating system installed on your
system.

Do not forget to note down the settings in the Appendix E “Unit
Logs” on page 240; such data may be needed for ins
talling other
devices or troubleshooting problems with your system.

Cautions when adding RAID controllers and SCSI host adapters

If an RAID controller or a SCSI host adapter is added to the
system, there may be more than one controller in it, which controls
hard disk drives and other devices capable of starting the operating
system. In this case, using the BIOS Setup Utility, you can select
the hard disk drive that will boot the OS (operating system).

Follow these steps to select the hard disk drive:

1 Start BIOS Setup Utilities and select “+Hard Drive” from the

Boot menu.
See

“System Configuration Setup” on page 148

.

The name of the hard disk drive or the name of the controller
connected with it is displayed. (Displayed details vary accord-
ing to the add-in card.)

2 Use the <+> or <-> key to change priority to the desired

priority level.
