AFT and ALB functions

The Network Adapters that are mounted in the server as the
standard device has both the adapter fault tolerance (AFT)
function and adaptive load balance (ALB) function.

What are the AFT and ALB functions?

AFT (Adapter Fault Tolerance)

The AFT function is realized by the primary adapter and
secondary adapter. Usually only the primary adapter operates, and
the secondary adapter automatically operates when there is some
trouble with the primary adapter.

NOTE: When Ether 1 is set as primary and Ether 2 is set as
secondary the maximum transmission speed before
changeover is 1 Gbps and 100 Mbps after changeover when
using a hub that supports transmission at 1 Gbps.

When Ether 2 is set as primary and Ether 1 is set as second-
ary the maximum transmission speed before changeover is
100 Mbps and 1 Gpbs after changeover when using a hub
that supports transmission at 1 Gbps.

When using a hub that does not support transmission at 1
Gbps, the maximum transmission speed is 100 Mbps.
