remaining module allows the server to keep running.
(Downgraded operation).

NOTE: A CPU fan is attached to the 3.06 GHz CPU module.
This fan cannot be arranged in a redundant configuration.

If a cooling fan fails or downgrades, the fan fault indicator (

)

lights up amber to give a warning of it.
See “(6) System status indicators” on page 14.

NOTE: The buzzer sounds and continues to sound when the
pair of redundant fans both fail at the same time.

The failed cooling fan must be repaired as soon as possible.
The failure in the remaining cooling fan might result in the
corruption or loss of important data and programs.
Note that prolonged downgraded operation could shorten the
service life of each system component.
See “Cooling fan” on page 67.

NOTE: Installation and removal of the cooling fans require
special techniques and knowledge. So, if you find it difficult to
install or remove a cooling fan yourself, ask an authorized
MAGNIA service provider. (Services will be provided for a
fee.)

Be careful not to block the air inlet or outlet of any cooling fan.
Leave enough space for ventilation.

See “Environmental considerations” on page 4.
