The Orbit Toddler Car Seat is certifi ed for use in aircraft and is labeled as such.
Most airlines in the U.S. and Canada will allow the use of a carseat that is labeled
as an approved child restraint for aircraft use. Always contact the airline about
their carseat policy before traveling, and follow their guidelines for carseat use.

You can install the Toddler Car Seat either Rear- or Forward-Facing in an aircraft.

To secure the Toddler Car Seat Rear-Facing in an aircraft seat

Follow the instructions in the blue Rear-Facing section, “Installation with Braces &
Lap Style Seat Belts (without Orbit Base),” on pages 52-54.

To secure the Toddler Car Seat Forward-Facing in an aircraft seat

Follow the instructions in the red Forward-Facing section, “Installation with Lap-
Style Seat Belts (without Orbit Base),” on pages 70-71.

1. You should choose the same orientation (either Rear- or Forward-Facing) for an
aircraft installation as you would use in a car for your child at that time.

2. Make sure that the aircraft seat belt can be tightly secured around the Toddler
Car Seat. If the aircraft lap belt is too short, ask your fl ight attendant for a belt
extender.

Using in an Aircraft

3. If installing the Toddler Car Seat Rear-Facing, it is important to ensure that the
back of the carseat will not touch the back of the aircraft seat in front of you, both
when the aircraft seat is upright and reclined.

4. Recline the aircraft seat back when installing the seat; then bring it back
upright for an even tighter installation.

Tips For Traveling With Your Toddler in an Aircraft

1. Reserve a separate aircraft seat for your child and the child restraint.

2. Contact the airline in advance to be sure this child restraint complies with their
specifi c requirements, and to check whether they will provide discounted tickets
for children.

3. Bulkhead seats or Business Class seats are preferred, as they have more room
in front of them.

4. Install your Toddler Car Seat in a window seat to avoid blocking the row.

5. Take advantage of pre-boarding for families with children. The extra time will
help to get the seat installed tightly.

Note: the Toddler Car Seat can ONLY be used with the included
Braces in aircraft – it cannot be used with the Orbit Base in aircraft.
