 Select the type of fuel the engine will run on. The ECU firmware contains algorithms enabling

the following fuel types to be used:

o

Gasoline

o

Ethanol (E98)

o

Methanol

o

E85 – Do not select this setting unless running BigStuff3’s E85 Flex-fuel system!

Although E85 can be selected, it should not be used unless the optional E85 (Flex Fuel) system
has been purchased. Do not select E85 even if straight E85 will be used. Contact BigStuff3 for
more details.

 Engine Type – Select either Ford or GM. It is important that this selection be correct. The

GEN3 ECU uses this information for the individual fuel and spark control.

 Second Injector Switch Point (Injector Staging) - This feature is for 16 or 24 injector systems.

It allows for 16 or 24 injectors to be run sequentially, in a staged configuration. This feature is
especially useful for engines running alcohol fuel where a large volume of fuel is required and
two or three injectors per cylinder are being used. By staging the injectors you get better idle
quality and drivability. The first set of injectors operate until the user defined injector duty
cycle is reached, then the second and/or third set of injectors are introduced. When this occurs
the duty cycle, of all the sets of injectors, is recalculated and set to the same duty cycle,
even if the flow rates of the three sets of injectors are different.

 Load Axis Scale – The user can choose to see the fuel map, spark map and Air/Fuel Ratio

(AFR) map in kPa or PSI.

 EJET – Applicable only if running the BigStuff3’s electronic carburetor system. Contact

BigStuff3 for more details.
