Fuel Pump

The Fuel Pump Configuration section has two input cells. Both input cells assume that the GEN3 ECU
will control one or two fuel pumps.

If a mechanical pump is being used, or if the fuel pump(s) will be controlled via an independent
switch, no inputs are need in this section.

Assuming the GEN3 will control the fuel pump(s), the first input is the fuel pump “Prime Time” (in
seconds), allowing the user to set the amount of time the fuel pump will run when the ignition is turned
to the “On” position. This allows the user time to prime the fuel pump and check for leaks before the
engine is started. A time period of up to 25 seconds can be inputted into this screen. See the section
above titled

Fuel_Pump

for additional information.

The second input, “Second Pump On (TPS%)” is only needed if the GEN3 ECU is being used to turn
on a second fuel pump, as a function of throttle position (TPS). See the section above titled

Fuel_Pump

for additional information.

Drivetrain

The vehicle final drive ratio and tire diameter inputs are required to enable the ECU to make the
correct Mile-Per-Hour (MPH) calculations.

Pickup Wheels

This section allows the user to configure the pulses per rev input for the following pickup wheels:

Driveshaft (Pulse/rev) – Assumes GEN3 system is equipped with the DAE, SR2 or ETM

options.
Input options – 1, 2, 4 or 40 pulses per rev. For the SR2 and ETM systems, using a 4 magnet
pinion collar, use 4 pulses per rev. For the optional GM transmission control system use 40
pulses per rev.

Crankshaft (Pulse/rev)

Input options:

o

2 pulses per rev – 4 cylinder engine. Assumes either a two (2) magnet crank trigger

wheel or four (4) reluctor distributor.

o

3 pulses per rev – 6 cylinder engine. Assumes either a two (3) magnet crank trigger

wheel or four (6) reluctor distributor.

o

4 pulses per rev – 8 cylinder engine. Assumes either a two (4) magnet crank trigger

wheel or four (8) reluctor distributor.

o

24 pulses per rev – 8 cylinder GM LS1 and HEMI COP engines.

o

36 (36-1 crank wheel) pulses per rev – 8 cylinder Ford Modular Motor COP engine.

o

60 (60 -2 crank wheel) pulses per rev – 8 cylinder GM LS1 engine.
