6.1.1

System Identity

If your network operates with several of the access points, you would find it
useful to have a means of identifying each individual device.

In certain cases, your Internet Service Provider might request for a System
Name
before allowing you to access the Internet. This System Name also
serves as a DHCP Client ID during negotiations with the DHCP Server for
dynamic IP address allocation.

You can define the System Identity of the access point to be also utilized as
System Name or as DHCP Client ID.

System Identity

Click on System Identity from the SYSTEM TOOLS menu.

Enter the DHCP Client ID
assigned by your ISP in the
System Name field.

Fill in the name of a person to
contact in the System Contact
field.

Fill up the System Location
field. If there are multiple
devices in your network or
building, this entry might help to
identify the device.

Click on the

Apply

button to

effect the changes.
