Slide the power switch forward and hold it for more than four

seconds to turn off the computer.

Turn on the computer while holding down the F2 key. The BIOS

screen appears.

Press the Esc key. The Exit screen appears.

Select Get Default Value using the cursor keys and then press the

Enter key.

Press the Esc key, and then press the Enter key. The computer restarts

from the Recovery CD.

If your computer does not start from the System/Application Recovery CD

Using the Application Recovery Utility
(Models PCG-705E/707E Only)

^ The following instructions are for models PCG-705E/707E only. If you have model

PCG-705C or 707С, see the instrurtions on page 117.

You can reinstall individual applications and device drivers that shipped
with your computer if they are corrupted or accidentally erased. The
Application Recovery utility on your System/Application Recovery CD
allows you to select the software title you need to install.

If you experience a problem on your computer, reinstalling an individual
device driver or software title may correct the problem, and you may not
need to recover the entire contents of your hard drive. If you do need to
reinstall all the software titles that shipped with your computer, use the
System Recovery utility on the disk. See “Using the System Recovery
Utility (Models PCG-705E/707E Only) ” on page 118 for instnactions.
