How to Make Persons Stand out
Sharply from the Background
■ Using the Portrait Mode
In the Portrait Mode, the iris is automatically set to its
maximum opening which results in a very small depth-of-
field. This causes the subject in the centre of the picture
to be sharply focussed while the background is blurred.
The shutter speed is automatically adjusted between
1/50 s and 1/1500 s according to the brightness of the
subject.

Set to “ ” (Portrait Mode).
•The “ ” Indication appears in the Viewfinder.
•Zooming in on the subject by pushing the [W*T]
Zoom Lever toward “T” increases the blurring of
the background.
■ Manually Overriding the Automatic Exposure
Adjustment
Turn the [SHUTTER/IRIS] Control ®.
Turning upwards-. The picture becomes brighter.
(Backlight Compensation)
Turning downwards: The picture becomes darker.
(Overexposure Compensation)
The compensation value is indicated in the Viewfinder.
Range of compensation: +7 to -7
■ To Return to the Normal Shooting Mode
Reset the [AE] Dial to “AUTO”.

„Porträt“
ln der Betriebsart „Porträt“ wird die Blende automatisch
voll geöffnet, wodurch die Schärfentiefe sehr gering wird.
Dies hat zur Folge, daß der Bildgegenstand in der
Bildmitte scharf, der Hintergrund jedoch unscharf
abgebildet wird. Die Verschiußzeit wird entsprechend
der Helligkeit des Bildgegenstands automatisch
zwischen 1/50 s und 1/1500 s geregelt.

•Die Anzeige „ “ erscheint im Sucher.
•Durch Heranzoomen des Biidgegenstandes
(durch Drücken des [W*T]-Zoomhebel gegen
„T“) wird die Unschärfe des Hintergrundes noch
weiter verstärkt.
■ Manuelles Übersteuern der Belichtungsautomatik
Den [SHUTTER/IRISj-Regler® drehen.
Drehen nach oben: Das Bild wird heller
(zur Gegeniicht-Kompensierung)
Drehen nach unten: Das Bild wird dunkler
(zur Kompensierung von
Überbelichtung)
Der gewählte Kompensationswert wird im Sucher
angezeigt.
Kompensationsbereich: +7 bis -7 Blendenwerte
■ Zurückschalten auf die normale Aufnahme-
Betriebsart
Den [AE]-Wahlschalter auf „AUTO“ steilen.
