Configuration Using the Web Interface

Basic Settings

The Basic Setting group allows you the ability to configure switch information, IP address, User name/
Password of the system. It also allows you to do firmware upgrade, backup and restore configuration, reload
factory default, and reboot the system.

Note: This User Guide refers to all three models as the ES8508 unless there is

information specific between the models.

Switch Setting

You can assign the System Name, Location, Contact and view ES8508 information.

Switch Setting Page

System Name

You can assign a name to the ES8508. You can input up to 64 characters. After you
configure the name, The CLI system selects the first 12 characters as the name in
CLI system.

System Location

You can specify the ES8508 physical location with up to 64 characters.

System Contact

You can specify contact people with up to 64 characters by typing the Administer’s
name, mail address or other information.

ES8508F and ES8508F-XT:

System Description displays as RocketLinx ES8508F
Industrial Managed Ethernet Switch. The MAC address
is 00 C0 4E 3C xx xx. and the System OID is unique.
