To capture the event log file:

With HyperTerminal up and running as your RS-232 interface terminal, press
CTRL-E until the event log displays.

A full screen of events displays with the most recent event at the bottom.

From the Transfer menu in HyperTerminal, select Capture Text.

The Capture Text window displays.

Enter the path and file name you want to use to store the log file contents.

Click Start.

Press P on the keyboard and to begin the transfer.

From the Transfer menu in HyperTerminal, select Capture Text.

The Capture Text window displays.

Click Stop.

Displaying Hardware and Configuration Information

You can display the router’s hardware and configuration information. This is where you
can see what version of the firmware you have. Chaparral technical support personnel may
also request this information.

You can display the hardware and configuration information two ways:
