2. Installation and connection

The SKQ 40-00 can either be operated in a headend base unit SKS x0-xx or in stand alone mode. The SAT IF
signals of the LNB(s) are transmitted via a multiswitch or directly to the SAT IF inputs.

2.1.

Installation and connection in a headend base unit

If you wish to operate the SKQ 40-00 / 80-00 on a headend base unit SKS x-xx, plug the module into the output
collection field and fasten it with screws. Any free slot may be used.

The module is supplied with power by DC patch cords via the power supply unit. Insert the green DC
plug of the power supply unit into the green DC socket of the SKQ 40-/80-00. Then connect the SKQ
40-/80-00 with the output collection field using the DC patch cord SKZ 40-01. If multiple SKQ 40-/80-
00 are installed in the basic unit, the modules are interconnected with the supplied SKZ 40-00 DC
patch cords.

Notes
 Observe the operator's manual of the corresponding headend base unit!
 Before inserting or changing a module, pull the mains plug of the headend base unit from the socket! To

avoid dangerous overvoltages (danger: risk of fire/death), the base plate must be grounded according to

EN 50083-1, EN 60728-11:2010.
