25.3 Thermocouple Reset Procedure

This procedure is used in a situation of a new valve in in use or a new thermocouple. This will reset the data related to the thermocouple. A
calibration of the thermocouple and the process pressure sensors will be required after this process also. If the same pressure sensors are
used then no calibration of the process pressure sensors is required

.

StarPac 3 Electronics Termocouple Reset Procedure

To reset electronics thermocouple.
1. Turn OFF the 24V power
2. Press and hold down the SPACE ( ) key on the keypad while turning the 24V power ON.
3. Release the key after the display has booted and is active ( approximately .5 seconds).
Re-calibration of the termocouple may be required when the unit is put back in operation.

25.4 Factory or Full Reset Procedure:

This procedure is used when the unit is un-responsive to any input command or the display is all dark characters or all blank characters.

The StartPac 3 also has a factory reset. This will reset the StarPac 3 to the setting used for a new device from the factory. This reset will over-
write all settings to include NVRAM battery backed SRAM, all characterization data and all values included in the the initialization reset. To
use the factor reset the StarPac 3 has a two (2) pin connector below the bottom right corner of the display on the top board. Install a jumper or
short the two (2) pins and cycle the power of the device. The other method is to use the device menu and select Load Default. Either of these
methods will reset the device to factor settings.

StarPac 3 Electronics Factory Reset Procedure

To re-initialize the electronics:
1. Turn OFF the 24V power.
2. Install a jumper or short the pins on connector JP3 and turn the 24 V power OFF and then back ON.
3. Remove the jumper after the display has booted and is active (approximately .5 seconds). This is a full rest. After this reset all calibra-
tions must be completed and the characterizations need to be re-loaded. An electronic .vct file should have been sent with the valve. Use
Startalk XP or the StarTalk DTM to load the .vct characterization file to the unit or re-load from the device menu backup.

Note:

It is recommended to save a backup of settings once the device is working correctly. If the device encounters a problem that locks up

the software a factory reset can be performed and the backup can be applied to the device. The unit can save a bacup file and the software sent
with the unit can save a copy external to the device. This file will be a <filename>.vct. The file sent with the unit from the factor will not contain
all of the customer specific characterizations and calibration data, therefore, Flowserve recommends saving a backup once the seup and
commissioning of the unit is complete.
