1.4 ADDITIONAL REQUIRED HARDWARE
All ONICON insertion thermal mass sensors can be installed and removed via a ¾” or larger full
port ball valve without disrupting flow. The terms “Standard” and “Hot Tap” refer to the
installation method only.
Standard Installation: Occurs during new construction or
scheduled shutdown. Once kit is installed, the flow sensor can
be installed or removed without disrupting flow.
Hot Tap Installation: For applications which require the access
hole in the pipe to be drilled through the valve using a wet tap
drilling machine while the piping system is pressurized.
NOTE: Installation hardware materials vary based on pipe
material, pipe size, the maximum operating pressure and the
maximum operating temperature.
Contact ONICON when installation hardware is required for
different pipe materials or when higher pressure or temperature ratings are required.
