Configuring the operating mode of an Ethernet
interface
Ethernet interfaces on a Transit switch can operate in ENode mode or FCF mode. An Ethernet interface
connected to an ENode must be configured to operate in ENode mode, and an Ethernet interface
connected to an FCF switch must be configured to operate in FCF mode.
To configure the operating mode of an Ethernet interface:

Configuring the FC-MAP value
The FC-MAP value identifies an FCoE network. Switches (including FCF switches and Transit switches) in
the same FCoE network must have the same FC-MAP value.
An Ethernet interface in a VLAN on a Transit switch checks whether the FC-MAP value (configured by
using the fcoe fcmap command) in frames from FCF switches is the same as that configured for the VLAN.
If it is the same, the interface forwards the frames. If it is different, the interface drops the frames.
To configure an FC-MAP value:
