5.10 Limiting during asymmetric supply

In Order to limit the asymmetry between the phases while
supplying power to the grid to the max. permitted value,
Powador blueplanet 6400xi and 7600xi units are equipped
with an additional communication processor. This processor
cyclically determines the power that is currently being fed into
the grid from the connected inverters in its group at intervals of
an few seconds. From this, it calculates the maximum permis-
sible supply power (taking the max. permitted value mentioned
above into account).

5.11 The communications connection

between the inverters

The blueplanet 6400xi and 7600xi units are designed to be
used in groups consisting of max. 32 inverters. The inverters
are distributed over all three phases for this.
In addition, a communications connection must be established
between the inverters in the group. This is described below. All
the inverters of a group must be connected with each other.
In Order for the inverters to communicate with each other, all
inverters must be connected via the CAN bus interface that is
labelled “SYM-Bus”. To do this, the “SYM+” terminals of the
SYM block of all inverters in the group should be connected to
each other. The “SYM-” terminals should be connected in the
same manner (see fi gure 4.8). A twisted pair, shielded data
cable, such as CAT5 cable, is required for this.

Select SYM bus
All inverters of a group require a unique adress. The inverters
in the group must be distingishable from each other in order
to communicate with them. To do this, they must be assigned
a unique address in the range from 1 to 32.

Select phase
For each inverter the phase where the terminal L1 is connected
to must be selected. As long as the phase is not selected the
red LED fl ashes.

Set max. unsymmetry
Set the maximum grid unsymmetry for each inverter.

Example:
Number of inverters: 6
maximum permitted unsymmetry between the phases: 6 kW
Connection: connect the actual phases L1 and L2 to terminals
L1 and L2 on the fi rst two units. On the second two units,
connect phases L2 and L3 to terminals L1 and L2. On the third
two units, connect phases L3 and L1 to terminals L1 and L2.
Settings:
Select phase: Set the phase of the fi rst two units to L1, the
second two units to L2 and the third two units to L3.
Set the max. unsymmetry: Set this value on all units to 6 kW
(see fi gure 8.2).

5.12 SYM bus test

The Powador 6400xi and 7600xi have an integrated SYM bus
test to test the wiring and the software settings of the inverters
in the group that are connected together. This can only be
activated if the SYM bus itself is activated. To do this, use key
“2” to select “yes” in the “SYM bus active” menu of all units.
In order to begin the SYM bus test, use key “2” to select
“yes” in the “SYM bus test active” menu on one inverter.
Each inverter will display the feed in phase the number of the
inverters connected to this phase and the total nominal output
power of the inverters connected to this phase.
