Formatting Your CompactFlash
Memory Card

Your camera comes with a 16MB memory card preinstalled
in the camera. This card stores your photos, video clips, and
audio recordings until you transfer them to your computer
and delete them. You must format your CompactFlash
memory card before you use it to store your images.

Turn the camera dial to

and press the

POWER

button. You see the SETUP menu.

Press the button below

Memory SETUP

.

The Memory Card Format
menu appears if a memory
card is correctly installed in
the camera.

CAUTION

When you format your memory card, all the data is lost,

including any photos stored on your card.

Press the button next to

MEMORY CARD FORMAT

to format the card. You see a message warning you that
all data on the card will be deleted.

Press the button next to

Yes

to format the card, or the

button next to

No

to cancel.

Press the button under

BACK

to return to the SETUP

menu.
