Removing the System Cover
Before installing internal components, you must turn off and
unplug the computer, and remove the system cover.
To remove the system cover:
1. If the computer is on, turn it off.
2. Unplug the power cord and disconnect any peripheral
devices.
3. Loosen the three thumbscrews on the rear of the system
(Figure 8). If the screws are too tight to remove by hand,
use a flat-bladed screwdriver to loosen them.

4. Slide the cover back approximately one-half inch, until a
space opens between the front of the cover and the front
of the system.
