4. Make sure the notch

on the new memory module is aligned correctly with the connector key

on

the socket. Insert the memory module straight down into the connector until it snaps into position and
the retaining clips are closed.

5. Go to “Completing the FRU replacement” on page 92.

Replacing a PCI adapter

1. Remove the left-side cover. See “Removing the covers” on page 70.

2. Remove the screw securing the adapter being replaced.

3. Pull the adapter straight out of the PCI connector.

4. Remove the new adapter from its static-protective package.

5. Install the new adapter into the appropriate PCI connector.

6. Install the screw to secure the new adapter.

7. Go to “Completing the FRU replacement” on page 92.
