Chapter 6: Replacing supplies

Replacing

service items

After printing approximately 100,000 pages, the message

80 Scheduled Maintenance

appears on the printer display.

This message indicates that it’s time for a service techni-
cian to replace the fuser, transport belt, and roller set. Rou-
tine replacement of these parts ensures peak printer
performance and helps prevent print quality problems
and paper feed problems resulting from worn parts.

Lexmark offers a maintenance kit that contains the parts
required for your printer. When the

80 Scheduled Mainte-

nance

message appears, contact your service provider or

the place where you bought your printer to order the
appropriate kit.

Warning!

A trained service

technician must install the items
in the maintenance kit.

You can continue to use your printer until you are able to
schedule a service call. Press

Go

to clear the

80 Scheduled

Maintenance

message. The

Maintenance

status message

appears on the display until you have the printer serviced.
