Inspecting the Memory Recording
Functions

Make sure you successively carry out the inspections from
[Inspecting the P2 Card Recording] to [Inspecting the
Earphone and Speaker].

Inspecting the P2 Card Recording

Checkonthedisplayinsidetheviewfinderthat
theremainingPcardrecordingcapacityis
sufficient.

For details, refer to [Screen displays] (page 66).

Pressthecamera’sRECbuttontocheckthe
followingitems:

• The P2 access LED blinks in orange.
• The REC indication in the viewfinder lights.
• System warnings do not appear inside the

viewfinder.

Pressthecamera’sRECbuttonagain.

• Check that the P2 access LED lights orange and

that REC indication in the viewfinder clears.

UsingtheRECbuttononthehandle,repeat
Stepstotocheckthesameoperation.

• Check the VTR button on the lens in the same way.

PresstheTHUMBNAILbuttontoswitch
thethumbnailscreentoplaybackcurrently
recordedclipfromthumbnail.

• Check that playback is operating normally.

UsetheUSERbuttontowhichtheSLOTSEL
functionhasbeenassignedtoselectPcards
forrecordingwhenmorethanonePcardis
insertedinthecardslots.

• Repeat the operations in Steps 2 to 3 and 5

to check that recording and playback operate
properly.

SettheAUDIOSELECTCH1andCH
switchesto[AUTO].

SettheAUDIOINswitchto[FRONT].

AimthemicrophoneconnectedtotheMICIN
jackatanappropriatesoundsource.Then,
checkthattheleveldisplaysforbothCH1and
CHchangeaccordingtothesoundlevel.

SettheAUDIOINswitchto[FRONT].

SettheAUDIOSELECTCH1andCH
switchesto[MAN].

TurntheAUDIOLEVELCH1andCHcontrols.

• Check that the level display increases when the

controls are turned to the right.

TurntheMONITORcontroltocheckthatthe
speakervolumechanges.

ConnectanearphonetothePHONESjack.

• Check that the speaker is turned off and the

microphone sound can be heard from the
earphone.

earphonevolumechanges.
