Migrating from RAID 0+1 to RAID 5

The following example shows you how to convert a RAID 0+1 array with four disks to a
RAID 5 array with four disks.

1 Go to the system BIOS and make sure that the drives that you want to use are RAID

enabled.

2 Boot to Windows, launch the MediaShield application, then follow the steps outlined in

“Creating a Stripe Mirroring Array” on page 54

.

When that is done, you should see a screen shot similar to the following:

3 Click click on “Stripe Mirroring” and select “Convert Array...” as shown in the

following screen shot:
