Installation
Installation options
The following sections describe the various physical installation options for the Business Services
Gateway 8-port (BSG8ew) and the Business Services Gateway 12-port (BSG12ew/aw/tw).

Prerequisites to installation options
• Similar units, such as BCM50, BES50, and BSG8ew/12ew/aw/tw, are designed to install
side-by-side or on top of one another. Take this option into account when planning your
system installation.
• BSG12ew/aw/tw does not provide wall-mount upgrade kit for wall installation.
• If you are stacking multiple BSG8ew/12ew/aw/tw units, activate WiFi on only the bottom
unit to prevent radio interference.
• Verify that your selected installation method meets the acceptable environmental
conditions.
• To keep the BSG8ew/12ew/aw/tw operating at the optimal internal temperature, keep the
top, sides, and rear clear of obstructions and away from the exhaust of other equipment.
• Do not place anything other than a BSG8ew/12ew/aw/tw, BCM50, or BES50 on top of a
BSG8ew/12ew/aw/tw.
