Procedure steps
Step Action
1 Remove the telephony and data networking lines from the BSG8ew/12ew/aw/
tw .
2 While removing a BSG8ew, rotate the power supply retention clip to free the
power supply cord.
3 Remove the power supply cord from the BSG8ew/12ew/aw/tw .
4 Remove the power supply cord from the AC wall outlet.
5 Remove the power supply from the table, rack-mount shelf, or wall-mount
bracket.

Connecting the new power supply
Use this procedure to connect the new power supply for the BSG8ew/12ew/aw/tw.
Prerequisites
• Do not operate the BSG8ew/12ew/aw/tw with the cover removed.
Procedure steps
Step Action
1 Connect the new power supply. See “Connecting power to the BSG8ew” on
page 45 or “Connecting power to the BSG12ew/aw/tw” on page 46 .
2 Reconnect the telephony and data networking lines that you removed.

Disconnect the power cord, telephone cables, and network cables before opening the
BSG8ew main unit.
