Removing a GBIC 33
Procedure steps
CAUTION
GBICs are keyed to prevent incorrect insertion. If the GBIC resists
pressure, do not force it; turn it over, and reinsert it.
Step Action
1 Remove the GBIC from its protective packaging.
2 Grasp the GBIC between your thumb and forefinger.
3 Insert the GBIC into the slot on the front panel of the Gigabit
Ethernet switching module.

4 Remove the dust cover and insert the fiber optic connector.

1 Disconnect the network fiber cable from the GBIC connector.
2 Attach a dust cover over the fiber optic bore.
