The

Serialization

option controls how the library returns the tape

drive serial number when a

Read Element Status

is requested.

When

Serialization

is set to

On

, the tape drive serial number is

returned in a format compatible with Quantum ATL Prism

products. When

Serialization

is set to

Off

, the tape drive serial

number is returned in a vendor unique format. This setting is only

valid when

Emulation

is set to

ATL M2500

or

ATL 1500

(see

Changing the Emulation Setting

on page 59).

To enable or disable drive serialization:

Access the

Configuration

screen (see

Accessing the

Configuration Screen

on page 53).

Press the

Up

or

Down

buttons until

Serialization

is highlighted.

Press

Select

.

Use the

Up

or

Down

buttons to select the desired

Serialization

setting. The available settings are

Enabled

and

Disabled

.

Press

Select

.

To return to the

Configuration

screen without changing the

option setting, press

Cancel

.

Press

Main

to return to the main screen.

Note:

The default setting is

Disabled

.

Caution:

If you do not return to the main screen after

changing this setting, your change will not be

saved to NVRAM.
