Setting The Job Priority Option (continued)

How Job Priority Scheduling Works in the Controller
(continued)

• The job with the highest priority number in the queue of eligible jobs is

scheduled first. If more than one job has the same priority number, the
job received in total and first in time will be printed first.

• Internally generated plots such as test prints and error pages and other

types of jobs receive a very high priority not available to outside sources
of print jobs to ensure timely processing.

When it is necessary to cancel a job using the Cancel button on the
8825/8830 Printer Control Panel the following sequence occurs. The Printer
Control Panel cancel command will affect the “most mature” job currently in
the system. A confirm message to prevent unintentional cancel operations is
displayed and must be responded to. Only one cancel command is excepted
at a time so another cancel request will not be accepted until the current
cancel request has completed. Once the job cancel request has been given
and confirmed, the job will be aborted on the very next page. If a long plot job
is being printed, then the long plot will be stopped within 10 feet.
