3. Calibrate your system according to the instruction in the “System
Calibration” chapter.
4. From the Home tab, select Prime after the pressure has
stabilized. Record the maximum air and sheath pressure, as 
displayed in the Luminex System Monitor window on the 
Diagnostic tab.
Air pressure: _______ psi.
Sheath Pressure: _______ psi.
Save this information. You will need it later in the installation 
procedure, and you will also need to refer to it if you use the 
Luminex 100 analyzer with the original sheath fluid container 
again.
5. At the end of the prime cycle, disconnect the sheath fluid
container. Store it in a safe place. Disconnect the waste container.
6. Place the SD near the sheath fluid connectors on the Luminex
100 analyzer and make the following connections:
•
Connect the sheath fluid line (blue fitting) to the Sheath Out 
connector on the front of the Sheath Delivery system.
•
Connect the air line (green fitting) to the Air In connector on 
the front of the Sheath Delivery system. 
•
Connect the sheath fluid line to the sheath fluid connector on 
the side of the Luminex 100 analyzer (blue fitting).
•
Connect the air line to the air connector on the side of the 
Luminex 100 analyzer (green fitting).
•
Connect the waste line tubing to the waste connector on the 
side of the Luminex 100 analyzer (orange fitting). Place the 
other end of the waste line into an appropriate biohazard 
receptacle. Cut off excess tubing and make sure the waste 
receptacle is level with the Luminex 100 analyzer or no more 
than three feet below it.
•
Connect the sheath fluid intake line (white fitting) to the 
Sheath In connector on the front of the Sheath Delivery 
system.
•
Connect the power cord to the back of the Sheath Delivery 
system and plug the other end into an approved outlet.
7. Place the 20 liter sheath fluid box so that the cap is on top and
the box is approximately three feet below the SD system device 
and the Luminex 100 analyzer (typically sitting on the floor).
