[3] Enter the calculated result in [2] above into “Axis-specific parameter No. 12, Home preset value”

for the slave axis.

o Transfer the parameter data to the controller, write to the flash ROM, and then restart the

controller (software reset).

(6) Turn on the servo, and check the operation with jogging commands (master axis operation).

If an “Error No. D0A, Driver overload error,” “Error No. C6B, Deviation overflow error,” “Error
No. CA5, Stop deviation overflow error” or any other error generates, check the following
items.
x If the current master axis position is significantly different from the current slave axis

position, the settings in (5) may be wrong.

x Check the following parameters to make sure the necessary changes have been made

and the values are entered correctly:
“Axis parameter No. 65, Synchro mating-axis number”
“Axis-specific parameter No. 83, Absolute synchro slave-axis initialization cancellation”

x Check if either slider is locked.

4. Standard Absolute Reset Procedure

When “Axis-specific parameter No. 38, Encoder ABS/INC type” is set to “1” for the master axis and “0” for
the slave axis
After completing the procedure in 2, “Position Alignment of Synchro-Axis Sliders,” perform a normal
absolute reset for the master axis alone. For the specific procedure, refer to the operation manual for the
X-SEL controller or PC software.

Note) Once an absolute reset is performed on either synchro axis using the standard procedure, any

position deviation that occurred in the applicable slider while the power was off will not be
automatically corrected after the servo is turned on.
