Replacing an I/O Module
Figure 5–6 shows a rear view of the BA370 enclosure and the location
of the six I/O modules (also referred to as ports). Use the following
steps to replace an I/O module:
Note This procedure is not applicable for the M1 shelf.
An I/O module can be replaced in either a single-controller or a dual-
redundant controller configuration using this procedure.

Note The controller can function with one failed I/O module.
1. Connect a PC or terminal to the controller’s maintenance port.
2. In a dual-redundant controller configuration, disable failover with the
following command:
SET NOFAILOVER
3. In a dual-redundant controller configuration, remove the program card’s
ESD cover and program card from the other controller. Save them for
reinstallation.
4. Start FRUTIL with the following command:
RUN FRUTIL
FRUTIL displays the following:
Do you intend to replace this controller’s cache battery? Y/N
