Shooting Features

A (Auto) Mode

Basic shooting operations can be performed. In
addition, the options of shooting menu (

A62) can be

adjusted according to the shooting conditions and the
kind of images you want to capture.
The focus area for autofocus differs depending on

the setting of AF area mode that can be selected in
the A menu icon after pressing the

d button.

When the camera detects the main subject, it focuses on that subject (target

finding AF).

The camera has 9 focus areas, and if it does not detect the main subject, it

automatically selects the focus areas containing the subject closest to the
camera.

See “Using the Target Finding AF” (

A66) for more information.

See “Focus and Exposure” (

A27) for more information.
