Depending upon shooting conditions, the camera may not select the desired scene mode. Should
this occur, switch to A (auto) mode (

A31) or select the optimum scene mode for the subject

manually.

x Scene auto selector

When you point the camera at the subject, the camera automatically selects the

optimum scene mode from the list below and adjusts the shooting settings accordingly.
e: Portrait, f: Landscape, h: Night portrait, g: Night landscape, i: Close-up,
j: Backlighting, d: Other scenes

The camera automatically selects the focus area for autofocus in accordance with the

composition. The camera detects and focuses on faces (

A67).

If the camera switches to night landscape or night portrait scene mode, it shoots a single

picture at a slow shutter speed.

The digital zoom is not available.
