Adjusting Brightness (Exposure Compensation)

When the shooting mode is set to scene mode, smart portrait mode or special
effects mode, you can adjust the brightness (exposure compensation).

Press

K

exposure compensation) on the

multi selector.

Press the multi selector

H or I to select a

compensation value.

Press the

k button.

If the

k button is not pressed within a few seconds, the selection is set and the

setting menu disappears.

Even when the shutter-release button is pressed without pressing the

k button, a

picture can be shot using the selected compensation value.

When an exposure compensation value other than 0.0 is applied, the value is

displayed with the H icon on the monitor screen.

Press the shutter-release button to take a
picture.

To turn off exposure compensation, return to step 1,

and change the value to 0.0.

Exposure Compensation Value

When the shooting mode is the Fireworks show (

A40) in scene mode, the exposure

compensation cannot be used.

When the exposure compensation is set while using a flash, the compensation is applied to both

the background exposure and to the flash output.
