Programming Submasters

[At this stage of learning let’s make life easier for all of us and make sure the Pile On feature is OFF].
As a submaster can record Fixtures dimmers, a cue or a chase let’s deal with them one by one.

Recording Fixture Dimmers (for individual or groups of fixture(s).

Entering into a submaster a fixture’s dimmer (channel), is very easy. First choose the submaster page. To do this
press and hold down the submaster button. The led should come on and after 3 seconds the display screen will
read

SELECT SUB PAGE

Make life easy on yourself and choose Direct Access key number one. The display screen will now read

SELECT SUB PAGE
SUB PAGE 01

Now just do the following commands by pressing the corresponding buttons.

“Enter, Sub, Sub n, Fixture n, Enter”.

Alright that’s confused you!! So here’s the command is normal English where we shall store fixture number 1
through 4’s dimmer channel into submaster 5. [Remember, to choose submaster number 5, you must press the
flash button below that submaster]. So now press:

“Enter”, followed by the submaster button. The LED right beside the submaster button will now be flashing
because it is in record mode. Then press the flash button below submaster 5. The display screen will now read:

ENTER SUB 5
SELECT SUB FIXT.

Now you have to chose which of the 24 fixtures’ dimmers you want stored in that submaster. To do that, go to
the 24 Direct Access keys and press numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4. Their LEDs will come on. Finally press “Enter” to
store this into Submaster 5. That’s it. The display screen will now read.

ELEKTRALITE CP20
REVISION 1.28

To see that it is recorded correctly, choose a cue with those fixtures in it. It doesn’t matter that the cue has the
dimmers “on” because once you fade up the submaster, you will have control of the dimmers. If you have no
light output, first make sure you turned the submaster button on, so that the faders are working as submasters
and not as channel faders. If you still have no light output, go and check that in your cue the color mixing is
“on” and that the shutters are “open”. Just because the dimmer is up, doesn’t mean that there’s light!!
