Recording a cue when the fixture type is DIMMER.

(and if the fixture type chosen is a dimmer then all channels of this fixture are therefore dimmers)

Now programming a submaster with a cue when the fixture type is DIMMER is slightly different. Read the
following example to get the idea of how to do it.

Let’s say the first 3 fixtures are dimmers. So you have 72 channels of dimming. (Nice, I wish I had your rig!). We
have made a cue #6 which has the dimmer channels at different levels. We now want to record this into
submaster 5.

In more detail, first press, “enter” followed by the “Sub” button. The Sub button’s led will start to flash
informing you that you are now in record mode. Then press the flash button below submaster 5. The display
screen will now read.

ENTER SUB 5
SELECT SUB FIXT.

Now press either the Direct Access keys for the correct cue or use the numerical keypad to type in the correct
cue number. So now the display should read

ENTER SUB 5
CUE 006

You should now press “Enter”. The display screen will momentarily display the word “DONE” and then you’ll
be back at the last display

ENTER SUB 5
CUE 006

Now you will note that here you do not select which fixtures are not used in the cue. All fixtures in the
cue are present. If you need to make an alteration, then go to the cue itself and edit it.

On playback the submaster works on the principle of LTP (Last Takes Precedence). So when you raise the
submaster the cue is played back. Pulling the fader to zero will not effect the output.
In order to get a gentle fade up the cue must have some fade time recorded in the cue.
In order to get a gentle fade down just record a second cue with those channels at 0 and with a time fade.
So in our example submaster #6 could have a Zero cue (cue #7), this way you just use adjacent
submasters to create dimmer time fades.
