blank

carrier

is

installed

drive

bay.

To

install

a

hard

disk

drive

into

a

drive

carrier,

do

the

following:

1.

Observe

all

safety

and

ESD

precautions

in

the

Safety

and

Warranty

Guide.

2.

See

“Removing

a

drive

carrier

module”

on

page

17

for

instructions

on

removing

a

drive

carrier

from

a

drive

bay.

3.

If

replacing

a

hard

disk

drive,

see

“Removing

a

hard

disk

drive

from

a

drive

carrier”

on

page

for

instructions

on

removing

carrier.

4.

If

not

previously

removed,

remove

the

label

from

the

inside

of

the

drive

carrier

by

pulling

up

on

the

blue

tab

(see

1

in

the

following

figure).

Insert

the

hard

disk

drive

into

the

drive

carrier,

ensuring

that

the

top

of

the

hard

disk

drive

faces

up

and

the

connector

end

of

the

hard

disk

drive

faces

the

rear

of

the

drive

carrier.

Secure

the

hard

disk

drive

to

the

drive

carrier

with

four

screws

(see

2 ).

Set

any

jumpers

for

the

hard

disk

drive.
