Remove

the

enclosure

cover.

the

adapter

bracket

retaining

screw.

Grasp

the

top

of

the

Ethernet

card

and

lift

straight

up

to

remove

from

the

PCI

slot.

7.

Replace

the

cover

bracket

and

secure

with

a

screw.

8.

Repeat

steps

5

through

7

for

each

additional

Ethernet

card

to

be

installed.

9.

Re-install

the

enclosure

cover.

10.

Reconnect

all

peripheral

devices

and

the

AC

power

cord(s).

Turn

on

the

storage

system.

Installing

an

Ethernet

card

To

install

an

Ethernet

card,

do

the

following:

1.

Observe

all

safety

and

ESD

precautions

in

the

Safety

and

Warranty

Guide.

2.

Turn

off

all

peripheral

devices

connected

to

the

storage

system.

Turn

off

the

storage

system.

3.

Disconnect

the

AC

power

cord(s).

4.

Remove

the

enclosure

cover.

on

page

6.

5.

Remove

the

cover

bracket

from

a

32-bit

or

64-bit

PCI

bus

master

slot.

See

Appendix

A,

“Server

board

connector

and

header

locations,”

on

page

39for

slot

locations.

6.

Insert

the

Ethernet

card

in

a

compatible

PCI

slot.

Attention:

If

you

install

a

64-bit

Ethernet

card

in

a

32-bit

slot,

the

Ethernet

card

will

still

function

but

the

end

of

the

edge

connector

will

be

exposed

and

not

connected.

Ensure

the

exposed

contacts

do

not

touch

anything

that

would

cause

an

electrical

problem.

Push

the

Ethernet

card

into

the

slot

until

the

Ethernet

card

is

firmly

seated.

7.

Secure

the

adapter

bracket

with

a

screw,

if

required.

8.

Repeat

steps

4

through

6

for

each

additional

Ethernet

card

to

be

installed.

9.

Re-install

the

enclosure

cover.

10.

Reconnect

all

peripheral

devices

and

the

AC

power

cord(s).

Power

up

the

storage

system.

Replacing

a

CMOS

battery

The

lithium

CMOS

battery

on

the

server

board

powers

the

RTC

in

the

absence

of

power.

When

the

battery

starts

to

weaken,

it

loses

voltage,

and

the

system

settings

stored

in

CMOS

RAM

(for

example,

the

date

and

time)

may

be

wrong.

Contact

your

customer

service

representative

or

dealer

for

a

list

of

approved

replacement

batteries.

To

replace

a

CMOS

battery,

do

the

following:
