29. Reinstall brace assembly 2 in the enclosure. Secure brace assembly to
enclosure by tightening the two captive screws.
30. Reinstall the processor air duct. For instructions, see “Installing the Processor
Air Duct” on page 45.
31. Reinstall the enclosure cover. For instructions, see “Installing the Enclosure
Cover” on page 28.
32. Reconnect all peripheral devices and the AC power cord(s) to the storage
array.
33. Turn on the storage array.
Boot drive options
The SMC - Storage Array has several boot drive options for loading operating
systems or storage software from third-party vendors. Operating systems can be
loaded onto either boot drives or a Disk on Module (DOM) device plugged into
the storage array. The boot drive module can be populated with either SATA or
SAS drives. See the Tested Hardware and Operating Systems List at
http://support.intel.com/ support/motherboards/server for supported drives and
operating systems. Refer to the documentation provided by your third-party
vendor(s) for instructions on installing storage software to a SATA or USB DOM.
