Remove

the

enclosure

cover.

Remove

the

processor

air

duct.

7.

Remove

the

screw

securing

the

expansion

slot

cover

to

the

chassis.

Remove

the

expansion

slot

cover

and

save.

8.

Remove

the

add-in

board

from

its

protective

wrapper.

Be

careful

not

to

touch

the

components

or

gold-edge

connectors.

Place

add-in

board

on

an

anti-static

surface.

9.

Set

any

jumpers

or

switches

on

the

add-in

board

according

to

the

manufacturer’s

instructions.

10.

Hold

add-in

board

by

its

top

edge

or

upper

corners.

Firmly

press

the

add-in

board

into

an

expansion

slot

on

the

server

board.

The

tapered

foot

on

the

expansion

card

bracket

must

fit

into

the

slot

in

the

retention

slot

frame.

11.

Align

the

rounded

notch

in

the

retaining

bracket

of

the

add-in

board

with

the

threaded

hole

in

the

frame.

The

retaining

bracket

fits

the

space

that

was

previously

occupied

by

the

expansion

slot

cover.

12.

Secure

the

add-in

board

to

the

chassis

with

the

screw

that

was

previously

removed.

13.

Attach

cables,

if

necessary.

14.

Reinstall

the

processor

air

duct.

For

15.

Reinstall

the

enclosure

cover.

For

instructions.

16.

Reconnect

all

peripheral

devices

and

the

AC

power

cord(s)

to

the

storage

array.

17.

Turn

on

the

storage

array.

Always

operate

your

storage

array

with

the

air

duct

in

place.

The

air

duct

is

required

to

maintain

proper

cooling

of

the

Observe

safety

ESD

precautions

Turn

off

all

peripheral

devices

connected

to

the

storage

array.

3.

Turn

off

the

storage

array.

4.

Disconnect

the

AC

power

cord(s).

5.

Remove

the

enclosure

cover.

6.

Lift

the

processor

air

duct

from

its

location

over

the

processor

sockets.
