> @ 8VHU GHI QDPH

Here you can specify whether you will enter the

6DPSOH

name yourself in the

6DPSOH QDPH

configuration box and in the

6DPSOH

dialog box, or whether

the system will automatically assign the

6DPSOH QDPH

. If you do not select

this option, the system assigns experiment numbers in the

6DPSOH QDPH

box.

> @ 2 ULQVLQJ

With this option, the decomposition vessel is briefly filled with oxygen, after

which the oxygen is released each time, before the actual filling with oxygen.

The purpose of this is to remove atmospheric nitrogen.

> @ FRPEXVWLEOH FUXFLEOH

This option reduces the value for extraneous energy by 50 Joules since no

cotton thread is used.

> @ 'HFRPSRVLWLRQ

If the sample is to be subjected to a subsequent decomposition after it has

undergone combustion, the decomposition vessel must be depressurized

outside of the calorimeter. To do this, a special depressurization station

C 5030 is connected (there is no automatic depressurization of the decom-

position vessel).

configuration box

In this box, you can select an option for the temperature control of the water

jacket in the outer vessel. The following options are available:

,VRSHULEROLF

The temperature of the water jacket is regulated to a

constant temperature.

$GLDEDWLF

The temperature of the water jacket is regulated ad-

justed to match the temperature of the inner vessel.

'\QDPLF

The combustion experiments are performed according

to a quick procedure.

$GMXVWPHQW

Internal parameters of temperature control are deter-

mined for this option. The device has been adjusted

during the functional test in the factory. It possesses a

temperature compensation so that under normal labo-

ratory circumstances no adjustment is required when it

is first placed in service. For more detailed information,

see Section 14.3 “Adjustment”.

configuration box

In most cases, certified benzoic acid is used. The indicated gross calorific

value should be entered. If you are working with another reference combus-

tion substance, you must enter the gross calorific value of this combustion

substance here yourself.

configuration box

You can use the experiment initialization to specify how the

should be set in the

6DPSOH

dialog box, as well as all

parameters in the

([SHULPHQWV

dialog box. These setting options are dis-

cussed again in Section 11, “Determining gross calorific values”. The follow-

ing options are available:
