SAFETY INFORMATION

Please comply with all safety and accident-prevention regulations, as in force for
laboratory work !

Use extra care when working with rotary evaporators.

Use adequate eye protection and protective garments.

Use extra care when working with flammable substances; refer to safety data
sheets.

When connecting your unit with your local power supply, please make sure your
unit is designed for your local supply voltage; go by data plate on the unit. Please
make sure that the power supply is easily accessible.

Turn power switch OFF whenever the unit is not used, or before disconnecting the
plug.

Repair work is limited to technicians approved by Heidolph Instruments.

Use extra care when working in the vicinity of flammable and explosive substances.
Motors are of non-sparking type, the unit itself however is not explosion-protected.

Caution ! Severe burns may occur when running the heating bath over 50°C. Do
not touch hot metal rim of bath, evaporator flask or heating bath fluid.

Never run heating bath dry.

Your LABOROTA 20 needs a solid level stand.


Never attempt to work with damaged or worn-out PTFE gasket (6). Not reaching
vacuum pressure wanted may damage your rotary evaporator. Inspect PTFE gasket
(6) in regular intervals and replace on condition.

Avoid overpressure in the glassware kit while distilling low-boiling solvents. Aerate
glassware kit as required. Overpressure in the glassware kit may damage the
evaporator or even blow-up parts of the glassware kit.

The reliability of the device might be affected, if safety- and installation instructions
are being violated.
