MK-145

MAINTENANCE

MaiNTeNaNCe:
Blade Dressing:
Like most cutting instruments, a diamond blade performs best when it is dressed. Over time and
use, diamonds on the outer edge will become smoothed or “glazed” over. This will reduce grinding
efficiency and may cause the blade to “wander” or bend giving the illusion of an alignment problem.
When this occurs, the blade will need to be dressed. The diamond blade can be dressed using the
MK Dressing Stick (part number 152792) and by following the steps below.

(A)

Setup the MK-145

for operation

(B)

Loosen the two (2) Retaining

Knobs and position the

Adjustable Cutting Guide to

cut a length of 1/16-inch then

retighten the Retaining Knobs

(C)

Place the Dressing Stick on

the Cutting Table against

the Adjustable Cutting

Guide

(D)

Set Blade Guard above the

top of the Dressing Stick

(G)

Turn saw off when cutting

is complete

(E)

Turn on the MK-145 and

verify Cooling Water Flow

around Blade Guard

(F)

Feed the Dressing Stick into

the Diamond Blade with a

steady even pressure (forcing

the tile will cause the blade

to slow which could cause

motor overheating)
