Moving and Enabling Run External Application Activity
Overview
This task moves the Run External Application activity from the Run section to the Set Up section, enables
it, and configures it to run a pre-existing video file.
1. Click the workflow and expand the Run section.
2. Drag the disabled Run External Application activity from the Run section to the Set Up section, below
the Input Parameters activity.
3. Click the Properties tab.
4. Enter the following:
Run External Application Activity Properties
Value Property
Enable (check) Enable
Enter “View Specimen Installation Video” Display Name
Browse to the application that is used to play the
video. Example: C:\program files\windows media
player\wmplayer.exe. Application Name
Enter the name of the preexisting video file.
Example: install video.wmv Arguments
Browse to the directory where the file resides.
Example: D:\users\user 1\desktop\ Default Directory
Enable (check) Wait for the
application to
complete
Runtime effect
The external application shows the video before the first test run when the operator starts the test (clicks
the Run button). The TWE application does not perform the first test run until the operator exits the video.
The external application does not show the video after the first test run.
Modifying the Run Section
Requirements
• The operator needs to be informed to stay clear of the test fixture before the frame moves before each
test run.
