Great Plains Manufacturing wants you to be satis-
fied with any new machine delivered by the Great
Plains Trucking network. To ease the assembly
task and produce a properly working machine,
read this entire manual before assembling or set-
ting up new equipment.
Description of Unit
The 3S-4000 is a towed seeding implement. This
three section drill has a working width of 40 feet.
The drill has straight arm, double disk openers.
The opener disks make a seed bed, and seed
tubes mounted between the disks place seed in
the furrow. Press wheels following the opener
disks close the furrow and gauge opener seeding
depth. A T-handle on the opener body is for seed-
ing depth adjustments. Seeding rates are
adjustable with the seed rate adjustment handle
and sprocket changes.
The 3S-4000 features active hydraulic down pres-
sure on the opener frames. When used on a
tractor with closed-center hydraulics, constant
down pressure ensures even opener penetration
in uneven ground. Hydraulic down pressure is ad-
justable at a single point.
Intended Usage
Use this implement to seed production-agriculture
crops in conventional or minimum tillage
applications.
