10. While the meter is removed, take time to inspect the

meter drive chain

, idlers

and drive sprocket

,

and perhaps perform the periodic chain lubrication.

Machine Damage Risk:
Even if a row will not be used, a meter must be installed.
Operating the drill with a meter removed will result in
machine damage. The meter housing is required to keep the
drive plate aligned. With no meter present, the drive chain
will strike drill parts.

11. Insert the inner sliding seed tube into the upper

outer tube. If the tube is chamfered on only one end,
insert the chamfered end up.

12. Move the screw clamp from the previous meter to

the grommet of the meter just installed.

13. Install the new meter. Insert the top (hooked) tab

first, then the bottom, in the slots of the opener
mount channel.

14. Swing the drive plate into the meter shaft and

engage the upper meter latch. Make sure the
tapered line-up pins near the drive sprocket engage
completely in line-up holes.

Note: Always engage the upper latch first.

15. Engage the lower meter latch.

16. Slide the inner seed tube into the grommet until it

stops against the ridge inside the grommet.

17. Position the screw clamp close to the top of the

grommet and tighten the screw.
