Meter Maintenance

Cleaning Out Meters
Note: Shut off sliding seed tubes, or ensure that seed

box and seed tubes are empty, before cleaning out
seed meters.

If residual seed needs to be recovered, position tarp or
buckets under the opener(s) whose meter(s) you will be
cleaning out.

Singulator Plus Meter Clean-Out

Refer to Figure 80 and Figure 81
1.

Remove retaining clip

and pull out the pin.

2.

Pull out on tab

. This allows seed to fall out the

seed delivery tube. A second tab

appears near

the meter base indicating that the clean-out is open.

3.

Rotate meter wheel:

• On 20 Series, remove the wheel retainer

, pull

the meter wheel out slightly, and rotate it clock-
wise to clear seed from the top of the meter.

• On 25 Series, disengage the drive coupler (see

Figure 37 on page 33), and rotate the wheel
counter-clockwise to clear seed from the top of
the meter.

4.

For thorough cleaning and inspection, completely
remove the seed wheel.

5.

Shake clean-out door tab

a few times to clear any

seed in its pocket.

6.

Re-seat wheel if moved, and re-install wheel
retainer

. Close cleanout door

,

. Re-insert pin

and secure with clip

. Re-engage drive coupler (on

25 Series).

Finger Pickup Meter Clean-Out

Refer to Figure 82
1.

Pull cleanout door

away from the opening and

allow seed to fall.

2.

Disengage the drive coupler (see Figure 37 on
page 33),
and rotate the wheel counter-clockwise to
clear seed from the pickup fingers.

3.

Close cleanout door

. Re-engage drive coupler.
