00 Series Opener Frame Adjustments
The opener frame has one adjustment point to allow two
different operating positions. This adjustment as shown in
Figure 3-11 is located on the opener frame trunnion pivot
castings located just ahead of the openers. This casting
contains three cross holes. The lower hole is a pivot for
controlling the tilt of the opener tube. For most normal drill-
ing conditions the other bolt should be assembled in the
second hole from the top. This position is for drilling with
normal opener down pressure (200 psi to 1200 psi). When
drilling with high opener down pressure (above 1200 psi)
Remove the bolt from the second hole and place it in the
top hole on all six trunnions across the drill. This tilts the
opener tube back to accommodate the higher opener down
pressures and gives the opener frames their full range up
and down rocking motion.
00 Series Disk Scraper Adjustment
To keep opener disks turning freely, dirt scrapers are
mounted between disks to clean as the disks rotate. As
field conditions vary, you may need to adjust scrapers. In
damp conditions, lower scrapers. If openers are not turning
freely, raise scrapers.
To adjust, loosen 3/8-inch bolt, shown in , and move scrap-
er as needed. See Figure 3-12.

00 Series Seed-Lok ® Lock Up
Optional Seed-Lok firming wheels provide additional
seed-to-soil contact. The wheels are spring loaded and do
not require adjusting. In some wet and sticky conditions
the wheels may accumulate soil.
To lock up Seed Lok wheels, hook bottom of hanger (1)
under Seed Lok arm (2) as shown in Figure 3-13.
