Maintenance and Lubrication

Maintenance

Proper servicing and adjustment is the key to the long life
of any farm implement. With careful and systematic in-
spection, you can avoid costly maintenance and repair.

1.

After using your drill for several hours, check all bolts
to be sure they are tight. Lubricate areas noted under
the Lubrication on page 53.

2.

Adjust idlers to remove excess slack from chains.
Clean and use chain lube on all roller chains as need-
ed.

3.

Feed cup drive sprocket should be oiled in its square bore.
Move feed cup adjustment lever away from sprocket as far
as possible in order to get oil back into square.

4.

Always maintain proper air pressure in rib implement
tires.

5.

Disk scrapers should be kept properly adjusted.

6.

Clean the drill on a regular basis. Regular and thor-
ough cleaning will lengthen equipment life and reduce
maintenance and repair.

7.

Replace any worn, damaged or illegible safety labels by
obtaining new labels from your Great Plains dealer.

3S-3000F Clean Out
After using fertilizer in the 3S-3000F, clean the drill boxes
as soon as possible.

1.

With a small scoop or can, remove as much fertilizer
as possible from the drill box.

2.
