Openers
If the raising or lowering times of the opener are noticeably
slower, check the inline filter and clean if needed. See Fig-
ure 5-3.
For S/N YY1310- 2004-:
1. To disassemble unscrew end cap of filter (7) opposite
direction of flow. Remove large (2) and small (3)
springs from inside the filter. Pull the poppet (4) up out
of filter. Using a hook, pull up filter seat (5) and screen
(6).
2. Clean filter screen with solvent and compressed air.
3. When reassembling push filter seat (5) and screen (6)
back into filter. Place poppet (4) in filter with arrow tip
down. Replace springs (2) (3) and end cap (7).
For S/N YY1311+ 2005+:
1. To disassemble unscrew end cap of filter (1). Remove
top retaining washer and screen.
2. Clean filter screen with solvent and compressed air or
replace if needed.
3. When reassembling put screen into filter. Place retain-
ing washer on top of filter and screw on end cap (1).

Storage
1. Thoroughly clean the drill boxes and feed cups as de-
scribed under Clean Out on this page. Do not store
the drill with fertilizer or seed-treatment residue in the
boxes and cups.
2. Lubricate and adjust all roller chains.
3. Lubricate all pivots as indicated in the following Illus-
trations.
4. Feed cup drive sprocket hub should be oiled in its
square bore. Squirt oil on to the square feed cup shaft
and move feed cup adjustment lever back and forth in
order to get the oil back into the square bore. This is
most important before putting the drill in storage.
5. Lock opener frames up for transport or disconnect the
seed and fertilizer hoses from the openers. Perma-
nent elongation and premature cracking of hoses may
occur if stored with hoses connected and the openers
in planting position.
6. Store the drill, and its attachments, inside if possible
for longer drill life.
