Cabling The Appliance
1. Locate the PowerVault DL2 xxx and PowerVault MD xxxx Getting Started Guides that shipped with the appliance and
follow the instructions to attach the keyboard, mouse, monitor, and power and network cables to the PowerVault
DL2 xxx system.
2. Attach the power cables to each storage enclosure.
NOTE: Do not turn on the PowerVault DL2 xxx system or storage enclosure(s).
NOTE: If the appliance configuration does not include one or more storage enclosures, proceed to the topic
“Connecting the Cable Management Arm (Optional)”.
Setting The Storage Mode
1. Locate the configuration switch for the storage enclosure.
2. Set the storage mode for each storage enclosure to unified mode .
NOTE: The configuration switch must be set to unified mode before turning on the storage enclosure. Changing the
configuration mode after turning on the storage enclosure has no effect on enclosure configuration until the
system is power cycled. For more information, see the
